If you’re buying, selling or transferring property, you’ll need to have your identity verified face-to-face prior to the sale. The ID check can be performed at more than 1,500 participating Post Offices nationally. This is helpful if you live outside of the metro area. At Alpha though we ID you at the office FREE. There are no hidden extra charges within quotes we give you initially.

What we can do for property purchasers and sellers

  • Accept your land title identity verification form
  • Check your identity
  • Take your photo
  • Process your payment
  • Witness your signature on the property document (if provided) – Properties outside WA only
  • Organise secure delivery of your information to your conveyancer / lawyer / mortgagee

How to get your identity verified

  1. Complete the Identity Verification form received from your conveyancer / lawyer / mortgagee.
  2. Obtain original and current identity documents (see details below) to bring into a participating Post Office.
  3. Use our locations and hours tool or call 13 POST (13 76 78) to find your closest participating Post Office.
  4. Go to your chosen Post Office to have the identity check performed.
    Please ensure you bring your Identity Verification form and the correct identity documents. Our staff will check your proof of identity documents during your interview.
    For properties outside WA only – if the property document is presented during the interview, you can have your signature witnessed by a staff member.
  5. Pay the $39 identity check fee when you lodge your form.
    Payment can be made by cash, EFTPOS, MasterCard or Visa. Please note that personal, business or bank cheques are not accepted. This is a non-refundable administration fee.
